The Location:
GP Based in the Kakadu National Park. As the main town of World Heritage Kakadu National Park, there is a considerable tourist population, especially during the dry season. Population data is indicative only and may vary depending on seasonality and other factors.
The position:
Work is undertaken in a multi-disciplinary team delivering clinical and public health services to the residents of the Jabiru community and surrounding outstations. Clinical support is provided by the Care Flight & District Medical Service via telephone consultations and medical retrievals. Royal Darwin Hospital is the regional hospital and provides tertiary care.
Clinic hours are from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. On call: RMP’s on site are not on call - Remote Area Nurses and Aboriginal Health Practitioners are the first respondents on-call, with the medical officer being called only if required or as advised by the DMO oncall.
