About the Role 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a General Medicine Physician to provide clinical care and treatment of patients within General Medicine of various hospitals in Australia. Omega Medical will sponsor the Consultant who in turn will work at various hospitals throughout Australia. The role includes admitting, consultative, diagnostic, and procedural, outpatient and on-call speciality services and any other services as may be determined and required by the General Medicine Department. 

The salary for the Locum Physician will be $2,000 - $2,500 per worked day depending on experience and the hospital. 

 

Mandatory Criteria

• A primary medical qualification registered or registrable with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (RACP) with Specialist recognition in General Medicine, or relevant adult subspecialty.
• Ability to Participate in the shared On-Call Physician Roster.
• Skills in clinical supervision, teaching and professional development at all levels, including medical, nursing, and allied health professional staff, both postgraduate and undergraduate.
• Excellent interpersonal skills including effective negotiation and conflict resolution, and an ability to liaise effectively at all levels of work, and interact as part of a diverse multidisciplinary team.
• Ability to implement improvement and innovation in the clinical setting.
• Demonstrated knowledge of, and ability to deliver quality assurance measures, research and best practice models of operation, within accreditation and organisational requirements.
• Awareness and understanding of Infection Control principles as they relate to the positions designated area of work.
