The role :
Work is undertaken in a multi-disciplinary team delivering clinical and public health services to the residents of the Wadeye community and surrounding outstations. Clinical support is provided by the Aerial Medical Service telephone consultations and medical retrievals. Royal Darwin Hospital is the regional hospital and provides tertiary care.
Hours are from 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday. On call - a Nurse on call responds to any call outs and contacts the doctor if advised by the RMP on call from Darwin.
This is a 2 GP post. Please note that the RMP visits Robinson River once a week for a day visit via light aircraft.
The Location:
GP based in the community of Borroloola 350 km east of the Daly Waters turnoff 972 km from Darwin or 90 minutes by air. Borroloola is located on the McArthur River, about 50 km upstream from the Gulf of Carpentaria. Borroloola lies on the traditional country of the Yanyuwa people, on the coastal plain between the Barkly Tablelands and the Gulf of Carpentaria.
